Field trip to Boxerworks

Field trip to Boxerworks

Here at Brother Moto we love BMWs, like a whole lot. Jared’s owned countless airheads, I’ve ridden my GS to the Arctic Ocean and back, we’ve even got BMW posters covering the walls of our office. There’s just something about these bikes...

When the opportunity came to take a trip out to Athens, GA and visit Boxerworks, we jumped at the chance. Jared and I hopped on my ’82 GoldWing 1100 (technically a boxer) and headed out to the country. Backroads took us through the Georgia heat, passing farms and rivers along the way.

We were soon greeted by air-conditioning and thousands of BMWs. The main shop is a brightly lit candy store, from services and repairs to ground up custom builds, there were sidecars and r80gs’s in every corner. We met Nathan, the beard behind Boxerworks, and he soon gave us the grand tour. From their Patagonia adventure builds, to the warehouses filled with airheads as far as the eye can see - we were in BMW heaven.

We talked shop with Nathan and got to hear some of his incredible stories, like how he traded a radio for his first motorcycle, and we continued to drool over every motorcycle we saw. We ended the day with a test ride of their blue R75/5 Scrambler build, I’ve never heard a BMW sound like this before… its for sale too!

Big thanks to the dudes over at Boxerworks for their wonderful hospitality. Go ride a BMW!
