Why this petition matters

Started by Brother Moto

Brother Moto was created with the idea of being a haven for those who are interested in motorcycles, and are looking on a place to lightly customize and tinker on their motorbikes themselves with a community of like minded individuals.

We have always hoped to reclaim the notion that motorcyclists are intimidating or disrespectful to the community and help to foster a new generation of two wheeled enthusiasts who are courteous and respectful to the environment around them. By providing a Motorcycle co-op / retail / small espresso bar to the general public we are communicating that those with a DIY spirit can be empowered to work on their motorcycle hobby themselves, within a clean and family friendly environment. We also believe that the coffee bar helps both current  motorcyclists and potential riders build a healthy community and hopefully lasting bond.

In the 5 months Brother Moto has existed at 530 Flat Shoals Avenue we have grown to 100 Members from all walks of life. Our youngest member is 16 years old with our oldest being right in his 60's. It has been a dream come true to see all kinds of people learning from each other and working on their bikes together. Beyond that, we love seeing our Members enjoying a meal together at one of the many restaurants we recommend every single day.

With all of that being said, we need your help.

We are running into a few snags with the City of Atlanta Zoning Department claiming we are a service providing "repair shop", because East Atlanta Village only allows 2 "Repair Shops" under their NC-2 Zoning we would be forced to shut the doors unless we can help the City of Atlanta update their zoning ordnance or give us a special accessory permit that would allow us to keep our co-op. We could use your help to show the city that Brother Moto is supported and wanted by both our local community here in Atlanta, as well as a larger collective population.

If you would not mind singing this petition to keep Brother Moto in East Atlanta Village, we would be ever so grateful for your support and we believe that together we can build an environment that is good for Atlanta and motorcyclists everywhere.

Thank you so so much.

 - The Brother Moto Team.
